Anquan Boldin - DO NOT WANT!

Remember when Clinton Portis was telling us that Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin was going to be a Redskin next season? No? Luckly I do.

That's all well and good. Boldin is an excellent receiver. He's big, fast, and best of all, he knows it.

But say it with me: HE IS NOT WORTH IT:

From the NY Daily News:

"So, how much is going to take to pry Anquan Boldin away from the Arizona Cardinals? (Agent) Drew Rosenhaus thinks it’ll cost four draft picks, including ones in the first and third rounds."

Let him go to the Eagles. Let him go to Baltimore. If the Redskins are looking for a receiver (and I don't think they should be), they can get just as much production from someone much cheaper. Receivers and running backs are like that.

In other news:
  • Phillip Daniels wants to return to the team. The last time we saw Daniels, he was walking off the team's practice field with a torn ACL. Daniels is 36, but he still brings it. I like him.

  1. You're crazy Sean. The Redskins need a top-notch receiver like the Detriot Lions need a win. I agree Anquan Boldin is not a good choice, but the Skins need someone who can catch the ball on a regular basis. — Invitus Maneo

  2. I can see why you might think that our wide receivers blow chunks. But I think that we should try giving Thomas and Malcolm Kelly a shot before we go blowing away more money.

Also, I think that the offense could (and rightly should) be better this coming season. The players will have a year under their belt with Jim Zorn's West Coast Offense. Perhaps Zorn himself will have improved his play calling.

    We'll see.

I'm not sure that Jason Campbell is the answer. But I have no doubt that this coming season will either make him or break him.

    It's all up to him.

Receivers are like running backs. If you have a good offense/QB, you're receivers will look awesome. If you don't, your receivers will look like turds.

    Thanks for the comment.
